Empire appoints new board member

Empire Oil & Gas (ASX:EGO) has appointed former Woodside Petroleum Limited (ASX:WPL) and Shell executive Stuart Brown to its board as a non-executive director.
 
Mr Brown is a petroleum geologist with international experience at the technical, managerial, executive and board levels.
 
He was vice president strategic planning at Woodside from 2007 until 2012 and he is currently managing director of his privately owned petroleum consultancy, International Oil and Gas Strategies Pty Ltd.
 
Mr Brown also held senior strategic and exploration positions at Shell in the UK, Africa and the Middle East.
 
Empire says it is still looking to appoint another independent non-executive director.
 
Empire Oil and Gas booked a net loss of $7.9 million in fiscal 2013.
