Cleanaway Waste Management
(ASX:CWY) has confirmed that its Materials Recycling Facility in Guildford, Western Australia was damaged by a fire yesterday.
Cleanaway CEO and Managing Director Vik Bansal thanked the emergency services for containing the blaze, saying “[o]ur teams on site were evacuated quickly and we are pleased that none of our employees or anyone else was injured in the incident”.
Cleanaway is working with its customers and other suppliers to determine alternative processing solutions for the materials that would otherwise have been processed at the facility.
It intends to rebuild the site and notes that the incident will not have a material impact on its underlying EBITDA for the 2020 financial year.

(ASX:CWY) are trading 0.76 per cent higher at $1.99.
