Woolworths Group (ASX:WOW) says it commits to a full remediation after a review found that approximately 5,700 salaried store team members working in Woolworths Supermarkets and Metro stores have not been paid in full compliance with the general retail industry award.

It’s estimated the remediation charge will be in the range of $200 million to $300 million.

The supermarket giant says it "unreservedly apologises" and is "deeply sorry".

The review started earlier in the year following the introduction of a new enterprise deal for the company's supermarkets and metro stores.

Shares in Woolworths are trading 0.21 per cent higher at $37.81
