JB Hi-Fi Limited
(ASX:JBH) is likely to be the top performing retailer during the Christmas sales period, according to an estimate published by Citi analysts.
The report says computer tablets appear the most likely winner from the Christmas period, thanks to a drop in prices and a wider choice.
It says JB Hi-Fi was much better placed than rival Harvey Norman in that specific category.
The weakest category overall was fashion, the report stated, because of a price-cutting promotional scramble before Christmas, with Premier Investments and Specialty Fashion Group most probably the worst affected.
JB Hi-Fi delivered a net profit of $116.6 million in fiscal 2013.
