Kathmandu profits climb

Kathmandu Holdings Limited (ASX:KMD) profits have climbed 26 per cent higher to $NZ44.2 million, including significant growth in online sales. 
 
In the year to July 31, sales lifted more than 10 per cent to $36.9 million, with online sales growth of 55 per cent contributing over 4 per cent of total sales.
 
Kathmandu opened 17 new stores in Australia, New Zealand and the UK throughout the year.
 
CEO Peter Halkett says the result is good given the difficult retail environment.
 
Mr Halkett says the company will continue to invest in systems infrastructure to grow online sales.
