AMP Limited
(ASX:AMP) has generated a first half net profit of $393 million, up six per cent on the same period a year ago.
Revenue in the period was $9 billion, a 24 per cent increase on the previous corresponding period.
Earnings were impacted by a 52 per cent drop in its wealth protection arm, reflecting poor claims experience and increased lapse rates.
The group will pay a partially-franked interim dividend of 11.5 cents, to be paid on October 11.
In a separate announcement AMP says it has appointed Craig Meller as its chief executive officer, replacing Craig Dunn. Mr Meller will begin in the role on January 1.
