Woolworths Limited
(ASX:WOW) says strength in its Australian food and liquor businesses is behind a strong lift in its full year sales.
The supermarket kingpin lifted its total sales by 4.3 per cent to $59.16 billion in fiscal 2013.
Sales from continuing operations totalled $58.51 billion, a 6.8 per cent lift on the previous year.
Australian food and liquor sales were 6.6 per cent stronger at $40 billion, highlighted by robust volume growth.
Woolworths generated a net profit of $1.16 billion in the first half of the 2013 financial year.
