Santos oil production up 2%

Company News

Santos Limited (ASX:STO) says its major growth projects are on track and that second quarter production lifted by 2 per cent to 12.4 million barrels of oil equivalent.

But gas production was six per cent lower than the same time last year, with higher output from Darwin dragged down by production in the Cooper and Carnarvon Basins and Indonesia.

Quarterly crude production surged 27 per cent to 2.4 million barrels of oil equivalent.

Production guidance for 2013 has been reduced by about 3 per cent to between 52 and 55 million barrels of oil equivalent.

Sales revenue hit $797 million for the June quarter, up 8 per cent on the same period last year due to higher oil sales and stronger gas prices.

Santos generated a net profit of $518 million in its 2012 financial year.
