Arrium hit by restructure costs

Company News

Arrium Limited (ASX:ARI) will take another $480 million hit as part of its restructure.

The miner is expected to book a loss for the year as a reault of the restructuring costs.

Chief executive Andrew Roberts says the company's efforts to streamline its steel and recycling operations will incur further costs.

The largest will come from its decision to sell its merchandising business and US recycling business.

That will lead to $360 million in charges, which is the amount it expects to lose from the sales.

Arrium posted a net loss of $445.4 million for the first half of fiscal 2013.
