Elders considers bids

Company News

Elders Limited (ASX:ELD) is in a trading halt as it considers final bids for its struggling rural services and auto parts businesses.

It comes after the ACCC gave rival RuralCo the go-ahead for a potential takeover of Elders' rural services arm.

Last month, Elders announced heavy writedowns on the two businesses it is trying to sell - Elders Rural Services and Futuris Automotive businesses.

The agribusiness group says it’s received final or near final bids for the two groups.

Elders has requested the halt remain until market open on Tuesday at the latest.

Elders posted a $300 million loss in the first half of the current financial year.
