Wesfarmers Limited
(ASX:WES)owned Target will cut 260 jobs as part of a restructure of its business operations.
The jobs will go from the company's store support centre in Geelong and in regional support locations.
Target says a new organisational structure will help restore business performance.
Target managing director Stuart Machin says staff leaving the business will receive their full entitlements as well as career transition support.
He says Target will also explore redeployment opportunities wherever available.
Wesfarmers generated a net profit of $1.28 billion in the first half of the current financial year.
