NAB to shift staff

Company News

National Australia Bank Limited (ASX:NAB) is set to shift some employees out of its branches and into fulfillment centres as part of a restructure of its business-banking unit, according to media reports.

While it’s unknown how many staff will be affected, the Financial Sector Union estimates hundreds of NAB employees around the country may be impacted.

The workers reportedly expected to be affected are administrative staff based in capital cities who work as support for business bankers.

NAB has reportedly ruled out any job cuts as a result of the changes, though some workers may be asked to consider changing positions.

The FSU says while retrenchments are unlikely, it still hope to resolve a number of issues with the bank regarding its plans.

NAB generated a net profit of $2.52 billion for the first half of the current financial year.
