Byron Energy sees evacuations due to Tropical Storm Barry

Byron Energy (ASX:BYE) has issued a number of evacuations due to impending weather conditions in the Gulf of Mexico brought on by Tropical Storm Barry.

Operating personnel have been safely evacuated SM71 F Platform Production.

The White Fleet Drilling 350 jack-up rig currently conducting operations on SM74 D14 well will be evacuated soon.
Plugging and abandonment operations were ongoing at the time of the evacuation.

Flooding has already hit New Orleans as the possible hurricane builds.

Shares in Byron Energy (ASX:BYE) are trading 1.06 per cent lower at $0.23.
