The Commonwealth Bank (ASX:CBA) has created a new role of group executive marketing and corporate affairs, as CBA says it's focused on its customers, stakeholders and the broader community.

The bank hired Priscilla Sims Brown for the seat, with effect from 1 August 2019. She is currently CEO a US start-up digital healthcare platform, Emerge.me, which she joined in 2017. Prior to this, Priscilla was senior vice president and chief marketing officer at AXA Financial in the US

CBA also created a new role, group general counsel and governance, with both new roles reporting directly to CEO Matt Comyn.

It comes as the big four bank decided to split the roles of group general counsel and group executive group corporate affairs in two roles following the retirement of Anna Lenahan.
