Fortescue inks software deal

Company News

Fortescue Metals Group Limited (ASX:FMG) has inked a deal with workplace management software provider ComOps for the data management of its rail operations.

ComOps will manage the long and short term rostering of drivers and operators for Fortescue via a series of spread sheets.

Superintendent of Operational Readiness for Rail Operations Troy Bootsma says the deployment of the new systems will siginificantly change
Fortescue’s processes for the better by automating much of its process.

Mr Bootsma says the enhanced capabilities will support continued growth while allowing Fortescue’s Rail Crew management processes to mature.

Fortescue Metals Group generated a net profit of $460.3 million in the first half of the 2013 financial year.
