Ausdrill’s Barminco wins 5-year, $800m Botswana contract

Ausdrill’s (ASX:ASL) hard-rock underground miner Barminco, has been awarded a contract worth $800 million.

The 5-year mining services contract is for works in Botswana.

The new, large and long-life mine development project is located in the highly prospective Kalahari copper belt in Botswana.

Barminco’s work includes mine development, establishment of underground mine infrastructure, diamond drilling and mine production at an initial rate of 3.6 million tonnes per annum of copper ore with multiple expansion opportunities.

Shares in Ausdrill Limited (ASX:ASL) closed 1.61 per cent higher at $1.58 on Friday.
