WBC hires head of new business division, Guilherme Lima

Westpac (ASX:WBC) has hired Guilherme (Guil) Lima as chief executive of its business division. He is currently HSBC Hong Kong’s group head of wealth management.

He’s also held roles in the retail and wealth management arm of HSBC’s Latin American region. Subject to the regulatory and visa approvals, Guil Lima will commence in the role later this year.

Guil Lima has also been partner at McKinsey and Co’s financial services practice for 13 years in New York and São Paulo, where he led commercial and retail banking businesses.

It follows Westpac unveiling plans in March to realign its Private Wealth, Platforms & Investments, and Superannuation businesses into a new business division.

The big four banks says his global expertise in banking and wealth, will be valuable as it grows its customer relationships in its new Business division.
