Transfield scores NBN deal

Transfield Services Ltd ( ASX:TSE) has been awarded a lucrative contract with the National broadband network.

The two year,  $170 million contract with the NBN Company will see Transfield design and construct passive fibre network and pre-connect facilities across Sydney.

Transfield Services’ chief executive Graeme Hunt has described the contract as a great opportunity to be part of one of the most significant infrastructure projects in Australian history.

Transfield sees the deal as positioning it well to benefit from an ongoing connection with the NBN.

Transfield ( ASX:TSE) last reported a $247 million net loss December 31st.
