Ten boss slams PM's reforms

Company News

Brand new Network Ten boss (ASX:TEN) Hamish McLennan has again lashed out at proposed media ownership changes.

Mr McLennan says overturning the current 'reach rule' would act as an immediate reduction in diversity.

Rival broadcasters Nine Entertainment and Southern Cross media (ASX: SXL) stand to benefit from the Governments proposed reform bill.

Under heavy industry fire, the bill has been referred to a senate committee today, in Canberra.

Media companies including Ten, Nine, Seven West, Fairfax and News Ltd are expected to give evidence.

Network ten last posted a $4.2 million net loss to August 31st.
