Vision stream, a wholly owned subsidiary of Leighton Holdings (ASX:LEI) has secured a lucrative contract for the national broadband network across three states.

In a market announcement, Visonstream says the contract, initially valued at $334 million, requires delivery of fibre optic broadband to Melbourne, Brisbane and southern NSW.

The contract is for a two year period, with the option to extend, putting potential contract earnings from the NBN at $1 billion.
