Supermarket giant Woolworths
(ASX:WOW) is in hot water, after a newspaper report exposed the existence of a damning dossier, which reportedly discusses the rise of private label products as a result of new competitors in the market.
The news comes as Woolworths was singled out by US analysts as enjoying one if the highest margins of any retailer in the world.
Woolworths and rival Coles ( ASX:WES) are currently being investigated by the ACCC for alleged anti-competitive practices.
Woolworths recorded a $1.15 billion net profit for the year to December 31st.
