Monadelphous wins $260M Rio Tinto contract

Engineering company Monadelphous Group Limited (ASX:MND) has won a $260 million iron ore construction contract from global mining company Rio Tinto Limited (ASX:RIO)
 
Under the contract Monadelphous will supply and install structural, mechanical, piping, electrical and instrumentation works at Rio Tinto’s Western Turner Brockman iron ore plant in the Pilbara region of Western Australia.
 
Monadelphous Managing Director Rob Velletri says the latest deal continues the company’s long standing involvement with Rio Tinto’s Pilbara iron ore operations. 
 
The contract is scheduled to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2013.  
 
Monadelphous Group increased its net profit by 37.5 per cent to $79 million in the first half of the 2013 financial year.
