Qantas Airways Limited
(ASX:QAN) non-executive director Corinne Namblard has resigned from the airline’s board, saying her involvement in an Italian corruption investigation has become a distraction.
Australia’s largest carrier announced the resignation, saying Ms Namblard believes her resignation to be in the best interests of Qantas and herself, despite strenuously denying any wrongdoing.
Qantas says it has no reason whatsoever to doubt Ms Namblard’s position on the matter.
Qantas Airways last week lifted its interim net profit by 164 per cent to $111 million.
