(ASX:VRX) was formed in 2010 and floated in 2011. We have a number of projects around Australia but our Thaduna/Green Dragon copper project, which I will focus on today, is our major priority.
The project is 175 kilometres northeast of Meekatharra in the middle of the Murchison and serviced from Newman. It is an active area sitting 40 kilometres east of Sandfire Resources De Grussa and since commencing in 2011, we’ve drilled almost 43,000 metres.
Predominantly the area is being mined for copper and is producing good results, whereas previously it was mostly gold.
We’ve had four phases of RC drilling, plus two deep drilling programs and have put out a maiden resource program of 101,000 tonnes of contained copper, since updated by 142,000 tonnes. We are in the process of completing the scoping study and will be looking for options to get the ore processed. The ore body is approximately three kilometres deep and despite limited land area, there is adequate room for a plant and associated infrastructure.
