First half, half as bad

Sims Metal Management Ltd (ASX:SGM) has narrowed its net loss in the six months to December 31, despite falling revenue. 

Sims posted a net loss of $295.5 million, more than halving last year's loss.  

Sims stopped short of declaring a dividend.

The result announcement marks CEO Daniel Diensts' last with the company.  He will stand down on June 30.
 
Sims Metal shares lost 1 per cent yesterday, to close at $10.67.
