$75 million goodbye

Company News

Outgoing BHP Billiton Limited (ASX:BHP) boss Marius Kloppers will reportedly exit the company with cash and shares worth $75 million.

If realised at current prices, the payout would mark one of the largest in Australian corporate history.

Mr Kloppers has spent six years in the top job at BHP and will shortly be replaced by Andrew MacKenzie.

BHP shares closed 3.83 per cent weaker yesterday at $37.17.

BHP Billiton last reported a net profit of $4 billion dollars.
