Seven West Media Limited
(ASX:SWM) has reportedly secured free-to -air broadcasting rights for almost all of the biggest horse racing events.
According to Fairfax Media, in addition to its coverage of the Melbourne Cup, Seven will broadcast Spring racing carnival events including the Sydney Easter racing carnival and the Caulfield Cup.
The Seven Network’s chief says there was enormous potential to air the sporting events on its digital channels.
Media reports also suggest the group has secured its broadcast rights with V8 Supercars, re-signing the motor sport for a further two years.
Seven West Media posted a net profit of $227 million in fiscal 2012.
