Straits suspends operations at Mt Muro

Company News

Straits Resources Limited (ASX:SRQ) says it has temporarily suspended mining activities at its Mt Muro operations in Indonesia, following an order given by the Provincial Governor of central Kalimantan.

Straits has not revealed why the directive has been given but says it will not impact its mining leases.

The metals explorer says it has chosen to voluntarily cease mining activities.

The Mt Muro mill will continue to operate  treating stockpiled ore.

Straits resources booked a net loss of $139 million in the 2012 financial year.
