Virgin Australia Holdings Limited’s
(ASX:VAH) is set to switch to a new booking and check-in system and has reportedly employed a band of computer experts to assist with the transition.
Passengers will be unable to access its online frequent flyer program from tomorrow through to Sunday afternoon.
One-off costs are expected from the upgrade. The airline has not revealed what the ongoing costs will be.
The new Sabre system will allow Virgin to improve services with alliance partners Etihad and Singapore airlines.
Virgin Australia posted a net profit of $22.8 million in the 2012 financial year.
