BHP Billiton Limited
(ASX:BHP) has been granted approval for its share in the Longford gas conditioning plant in Victoria.
BHP says the gas plant is a necessary extension of Bass Strait’s infrastructure.
The project forms part of its 50/50 joint venture with Esso Australia Resources Pty Ltd.
BHP generated net profit of $15.2 billion in fiscal 2012.
