Discovery flags production disruption

Company News

Discovery Metals Limited (ASX:DML) has flagged a potential disruption to its mining schedule and production plans at its Boseto copper mine in Botswana.

The Africa-focussed copper explorer and producer has stopped mining in section of the mine following orders from a Government agency to cease deepening the Zeta open pit.

Discovery Metals says the notice was given because of a localised failure of an interim pit wall situated in the hanging wall overburden at the Zeta open pit.

Discovery Metals is currently being pursued by Cathay Fortune Corporation and China-Africa Development Fund, having launched an off market takeover bid of $1.70 per share.

Discovery Metals posted a net loss of $20.7 million in the 2012 financial year.
