Tilt Renewables (ASX:TLT) has reached out to shareholders regarding its decision not to pay a final dividend for the year ended 31 March 2019.

The renewable energy company says its decision not to pay a final dividend for the year ended 31 March 2019 is due to its recently reached off-take agreement with Genesis Energy.

The board says together with the other opportunities being explored, it has decided to retain the cash currently held by the business to fund project equity requirements.

While it results in no dividend for shareholders, it ensures that any future near-term equity call on shareholders is minimised.

Shares in Tilt Renewables (ASX:TLT) are trading flat at $2.19.
