AGL Energy secure Gippsland gas supply agreement

AGL Energy (ASX:AGL) today announced it has entered into a new Gas Supply Agreement with BHP Billiton Petroleum for 78 petajoules (PJ) of natural gas from the Gippsland Basin in Victoria.

The GSA is for a period of 3.25 years, commencing starting next April.

The this new gas supply agreement will support AGL’s continued supply of its New South Wales and Victorian gas customers.

AGL also hopes to get new gas supply from international markets through its proposed AGL Gas Import Jetty Project.

Shares in AGL Energy (ASX:AGL) trading 0.1 per cent lower at $22.14.
