Coca-Cola Amatil (ASX:CCL) held its AGM today and showed how the decline in beverage sales in NSW has been reversed as they hired almost 100 new sales staff to increase customer engagement via "feet on the street'.

The 97 new sales staff liaise with food shops and convenience stores.

Managing director Alison Watkins says that volumes in the "immediate consumption" channel in metro NSW had risen 2 per cent in the year to date after falling 11 per cent in the year-earlier period.

They also noted significant gains in both cola and water during the year, in particular, Coca-Cola volumes in Australia grew in the second half of 2018, driven by Coca-Cola No Sugar.

Shares in Coca-Cola Amatil (ASX:CCL) are trading 0.68 per cent higher at $8.90.
