Downer EDI awarded Chorus field services agreement

Downer EDI (ASX:DOW) has today announced that it had been selected by Chorus for the 2019 Field Services Agreement.

The new agreement is worth about $220 million and will see Downer provide field services for most of New Zealand, from Waikato to the Lower South Island.

The contract runs for two years and nine months and will begin on July 1.

Downer CEO, Grant Fenn, says that the agreement will expand Downer’s delivery of extensive network maintenance and build services in New Zealand.

Shares in Downer (ASX:DOW) closed 1.54 per cent higher at $7.93 yesterday.
