Explosive company Orica see NPAT 35% up for the half year

Explosive company Orica (ASX:ORI) saw Net Profit After Tax for the six months to 31 March 2019 at $167 million, before individually significant items, 35 per cent up on the prior corresponding period.

In the first half of this year they had higher Ammonium Nitrate volumes and sales revenue was up 12 per cent driving 20 per cent EBIT growth.

The Board has declared an unfranked interim ordinary dividend of 22.0 cents per share payable on 1 July 2019.

The dividend represents a payout ratio of 50 per cent. The Board anticipates the full year dividend will be partially franked.

Shares in Orica (ASX:ORI) closed -0.11 per cent lower at $18.65 yesterday.
