Amcor
(ASX:AMC) and Bemis have announced they expect their merger to be completed in the next several weeks.
Last Thursday Bemis shareholders voted overwhelmingly in favour of Amcor's $9 billion buyout.
Amcor says all clearances and consents required prior to the Second Court Hearing in Australia and closing of the transaction have been completed, apart from antitrust approval in the United States.
The closing remains subject to approval and consent, and filing of a final judgement by the US Department of Justice (DOJ).
If successful the merger will create one the world's largest consumer packaging firms.
