Bega Cheese wins peanut butter jar trademark battle

Bega Cheese (ASX:BGA) will be able to continue to use the trademark peanut butter jars after a long battle with American food company Kraft.

Bega acquired the peanut butter products are part of its purchase with the Mondelez Grocery business in 2017.

The Federal Court of Australia today gave Bega the right to continue to use the current packaging of its Smooth and Crunchy Peanut Butter products.

Kraft Heinz sought to prevent Bega Cheese from using the trademark packaging of the yellow lid, and red and blue peanut labels.

Shares in Bega Cheese (ASX:BGA) are trading 7.41 per cent higher at $5.44
