Incitec boosts FY profit

Company News

Incitec Pivot Limited (ASX:IPL) has boosted its full year profit results by 10 per cent coming in at  $510.7 million.

The profit growth was largely aided by its explosives business and one-off items which delivered a $106 million lift in fiscal 2012.

The fertiliser and explosives maker says 60 per cent of its earnings were generated from its explosives business and says its acquisition of Dyno Nobel in 2008 has aided its year-on-year earnings growth.

Looking ahead, Incitec will continue its feasibility study into the construction of an ammonia plant at a brownfield site in the United States, with a final investment decision to be made in the first half of next year.
