Potash West: Conference Presentation

Company Presentations

Potash West NL (ASX:PWN) Managing Director, Patrick McManus presents ‘Developing a World Class Product from a World Class Asset’ at the Mining 2012 Resources Convention in Brisbane 2012

Potash West NL (ASX:PWN) has been set up specifically for this opportunity, we’ve been listed since May last year and are on track to produce a scoping study by year’s end. With approximately 84 million shares on issue, our market cap is about $20 million.

Board: Our Chairman Adrian Griffin saw the greensands opportunity and put this project together when potash prices began increasing about three/four years ago. Gary Johnson our Non-executive Director, brings skills in process design that have been vital.  My background is mainly in mineral sands and iron ore, and I am very familiar with project management/development.

Very simply we’re taking greensand material, extracting glauconite from it – glauconite is an iron, potassium, aluminium, magnesium silicate - and extract from them, the potash products. In the fertilizer business, there are three elements that are needed to produce hundreds of kilograms per hectare per year, to make plants grow effectively. They are nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium. With increasing demand, potash is the essential potassium part of that equation.
