Monadelphous scores $320M Rio contracts

Monadelphous Group Limited (ASX:MND) has scored $320 million worth of contract to work on Rio Tinto Limited’s (ASX:RIO) iron ore operations in the Pilbara region of Western Australia. 
 
The engineering and construction company will undertake construction and maintenance work for the global miner under separate contracts. 
 
Monadelphous has received a notice of award for work on Rio Tinto's Marandoo Mine Phase Two expansion project, awarded under a framework agreement announced in February.
 
Monadelphous has also been awarded three-year extensions to two shutdown and maintenance services contracts for Rio Tinto's coastal and inland west operations. 
       
Shares in Monadelphous Group closed 1.95 per cent lower yesterday at $20.61. 
 
Monadelphous Group generated a net profit of $137 million in the 2012 financial year.
