AP Eagers forecasts record FY profit

Company News

AP Eagers Limited (ASX:APE) has forecast a record net profit for the 2012 calendar year despite a level of uncertainty about the global and Australian economic environment.

The vehicle retailer has flagged a figure of between $72 and $75 million for the year, an increase on their $58 million before tax result in 2011.

AP Eagers says that high vehicle supplies, appealing marketing, low interest rates and the high Australian dollar are factors behind its ongoing improved performance.

To the end of September, the company reports new vehicle sales rose by 9.4 per cent on the corresponding period last year.

In the first half of the 2012 calendar year AP Eagers booked a net profit of $25.6 million.
