Transurban Q3 toll revenue rises

Company News

Transurban Group (ASX:TCL) says revenue from its Melbourne and Sydney toll roads rose 1.3 per cent to $195 million in the September quarter.

The toll roads operator saw continued revenue growth across the portfolio in the three months to the end of September with the exception of the Hills M2 motorway.

Transurban Group says, as expected, major upgrade works on the Hills M2 Motorway continued to impact traffic but the project remains on track to be finished mid 2013.

Over the quarter Sydney’s M5 South West motorway delivered the biggest rise in toll revenue, increasing 12.8 per cent from the year before.

Transurban Group’s net profit dropped 50 per cent to $58.6 million in the 2012 financial year.
