Silex Systems Limited (ASX:SLX) subsidiary Solar Systems has received a $10 million grant from the Victorian State Government.

The grant will go towards stage two of Solar Systems Solar Power Generation Demonstration project.

Stage one of the project was finished in June this year with the opening of a 600 kilowatt solar generating plant at Blackwater.

CEO Dr Michael Goldsworthy says the energy developer aims to establish Solar Systems technology as the world’s leading solar power generating system.

Stage two will see an additional facility constructed at Mildura and the foundation for stage three of the project, a 100 Megawatt Solar Power station.

Silex reported a full year net loss of almost $37 million for fiscal 2012.
