Sandfire produces DeGrussa concentrate

Sandfire Resources NL (ASX:SFR) has produced its first copper concentrate from its wholly owned DeGrussa Copper-Gold Project in Western Australia. 
 
Managing Director Karl Simich says the milestone signals the start of the mining company’s ramp up to full production expected in the first half of 2013. 
 
Mr Simich has confirmed Sandfire is on track to ramp up copper production to its targeted annualised rate of 77,000 tonnes per annum. 
 
Shares in Sandfire Resources gained 2.26 per cent to close at $8.58 after the announcement was made yesterday. 
 
Sandfire Resources booked a net loss of $23.9 million in the first half of the 2012 financial year.
