Vodafone switches on 3G+ network

Hutchison Telecommunications Limited (ASX:HTA) owned Vodafone has completed a three-year upgrade to its network that reportedly cost about $1.7 billion.

Today, it will switch on its new and improved spectrum known as 3G+ which works across seven major cities and said to be eight times faster than its existing 3G network.

The upgrade comes after more than 500,000 customers left the network after a series of transmission and signal failures. 
 
Hutichison Booked a net loss of $131.3 million in the first half of 2012 financial year.
