News Corporation’s
(ASX:NWS) Australian arm News Limited will be kept as one entity and not divided into separate businesses.
News Limited’s chief Kim Williams says the Australian print and television operations will remain under one publishing banner and noted the new enterprise would be largely debt-free.
Parent company News Corp will be split into two businesses some time next year.
Mr Williams has rallied against suggestions for increased government regulation of the media that he says would impinge on the value of its media assets.
News Corp posted a full year net profit of $1.4 billion.
