Telstra awards MCN ad sales contract

In an effort to boost its digital ad revenues, Telstra Corporation Limited (ASX:TLS) has reportedly handed over its digital ad sales to media company Multi Channel Network (MCN).

According to media reports, MCN will sell advertising for the telco across more than 50 pay-tv channels and websites.

Telstra's Advertising Network (TAN) failed to grow ad revenues for its digital network amid a soft advertising market.

Telstra says redundancies in TAN were likely, due to the consolidation.
 
In the 2012 financial year Telstra posted a net profit of $3.4 billion.
