AGL Energy names new CEO

AGL Energy (ASX:AGL) acting Chief Executive Brett Redman is to become CEO on a permanent basis.

Mr Redman was appointed interim CEO in August after previous CEO Andy Vesey left the role abruptly.

He has been with the power and gas retailer since 2007 and has more than 25 years experience in senior roles in blue-chip industrial companies in Australia and North America.

AGL says having had the opportunity to work with Mr Redman during his four months as interim CEO , the Board has been greatly impressed with the manner in which he has led the business.

Shares in AGL Energy (ASX:AGL) are trading 0.4 per cent lower at $19.72.
