Washington H. Soul Pattinson and Co.
(ASX:SOL) have released their Chairman's address where they answered questions on mining company Round Oak, a subsidiary of the company.
When asked what assurances can they give shareholders about the Benambra mine’s viability – they said it is obviously in their interests to ensure that they only undertake investment decisions which are profitable and take into account the various risks.
They say all mining companies are required to be responsible for the rehabilitation of mines following cessation of mining activities.
Mining company Round Oak, formerly known as Copper Chem, applied to the State Government to re-open and build on the old Stockman mine tailings dam at Benambra earlier this year.

(ASX:SOL) are trading 0.15 per cent lower at $26.12.
